What's your favorite....

Sake: Tentako Silent Stream is a fucking amazing sak. It's also about $120, so you ought to see God when you drink it. It does a fine job of washing the toro down though.

The Malbec question is a little tougher because you have to address issues of traditional vs new, and flood irrigated vs drip. I like the Luca and Tikal Malbecs a lot, and they're in a more modern style whereas the BenMarco Malbec seems like it is probably the most terroir-oriented wine in the portfolio because it's kind of rustic. I'd certainly consider the Mendel Malbec as among my favorites because it bridges the gap between traditional and modern quite well, and I'd be happy to have either of the Malbecs under the La Posta label grace my table. Both are single vineyard bottlings (from the Paulucci and Pizzella vineyards) and aren't spoofy and the price is really good too.

And Joe, assuming that you'd also be interested in completing the series, my favorite sparkling Malbec in the Vine Connections portfolio is the Reginato "Celetina" Ros of Malbec and my favorite dessert Malbec in the Vine Connections portfolio is the Susana Balbo "Virtuoso" Late Harvest Malbec.

-Eden (the La Posta Bonarda is very pleasing, even to Italians of my acquaintance)
