...is importing some pretty fucking impressive spanish wines, at all price levels. notes to come (just got into work)...

By astonishing coincidence I just got an email indicating that Jos will be pouring some of his wines Thursday night at Arlequin with five of the winemakers he represents in tow.

Javier Esteban of Bodegas Montebaco - Ribera del Duero
Pedro Guimaro of Bodegas Guimaro - Ribeira Sacra
Roberto Prez of Bodegas Bielsa - Campo de Borja
Ana de Leon of Bodegas Los Bermejos - Lanzarote
Hermanos Pecia - Rioja Alta

How cool is that?

I attended Jos's tasting in New York yesterday. He's bringing in many interesting wines and I think his company has enormous potential. Jos is a young guy and it is going to be exciting to see what he does in the future.

it's all right cool, the real cool tasting is actually happening at terroir the same day, with the natural producers of jose pastor aka EL DIABLO.

El diablo is scheduled to start dancing right after the prayer, i don't know if there is any monkey involved this time, maybe he'll sacrifice a pig or something like that

aha, missed that. I'll be there.

Man, this dude's got some good wines. I went to the Fort Mason tasting today, and there was a lot to like. What reverberates strongest in memory is wines from Tajinaste (Canary islands, I think). Really pretty stuff. Good Godello, and Txakoli, too! Yum!
