Has Anyone Here Ever Been Thrown off DrVino's blog Comments Section?

No. But then apart from that one post someone linked a month or two ago, I've never been to the site nor have I ever left a comment, so I'm not exactly a likely lad for a bannin'.

Cheers,

Dave

Yes, but what happens if I'm thrown off this forum, by example.

Where do I criticize this forums.

The internet has become too complicated!

Does Dan Posner post here or was he banned?

I think he has to have his posts proofread by Max Marinucci before they show up.

Marinucci can read?

As for Posner, the following gibberish indicates he can't write:

"No, hell is where the Wine Advocate is going and fast, if this bullshit continues.

It is dishonest.

Tyler is not dishonest. He is a wine blogger. Who gives a crap if he got a free trip or a free super sized value meal at McDonalds. He is not on trial here. He is a JOURNALIST and he posted the truth."

========

edit to note: my emphasis added to JOURNALIST.

Apparently, like Evelyn Mulwray, Tyler is both a wine blogger and a journalist and his hermaphroditic standing allows him to ignore the standards he seeks for others.

Meanwhile Posner and Marinucci continue to post Wine Advocate scores in order to flog wine. Their wine.

BTW, a Chateau Puy-Servain 2001 from Haut Montravel is just lovely.

I thought policy, endorsed by Joe, was to take comments about other forums to those forums.

I think if you get thrown off a blog or forum you can't be expected to go there and bitch. Somewhere else seems somewhat necessary. I'd think.

I think the only blog I've been kicked off so far is The Wine Importer blog, by the sheriff. I'm still bitter about the whole thing.

I picked up some 1999 of this at auction last year for a song (literally - per bottle it was the same price as an iTunes download, but the shipping added the price of about five iTunes downloands). It's a brilliant wine that improves over a couple of days in the refrigerator. If it lasts that long.

In the words of the immoral Harry Nilsson (but sans the lime and the coconut): "now let me get this straight"... You're not inferring that Tyler is a hermaphrodite, are you? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I read Perez Hilton and watch TMZ and I haven't heard word one about any wine critics who would begin to qualify for that particular category in the next census. Maybe one day there we'll have an official, full-on transgender wine critic to stand alongside all of the critics who are just plain confused in general but lack the chromosomal makeup to rationalize their actions

On another subject, I got tossed off the Squires board back in 1999 because I argued with a winemaker and even though it turned out that I was right, the crowd wanted blood and I had some so I got the old heave-ho. A year or so later the Big Guy interceded and I got tossed back on. The hiatus worked out okay, as it got me onto that hi-fi therapy board and that led to the wine therapy board and these days I don't have much time to be board at all.

-Eden (thinking that if Joe was tossed off Wine Disorder he could go to Captain Tumor Man.com to rant about it but if he became too unruly there, he'd have to banish himself from his own forum. I fear that this may be part of Steve Edmunds' nefarious plan to take over Joe's site)

Our dear own delicate Eden, banned? You should have Chet run over and have a few words with that nasty Squires man.

Or maybe not.

Sorry if I can't get properly worked up over this. But dear god, can't we just drink some wine? I had a properly dreadful Yarrabank aussie sparkler tonight to celebrate the end of our goddamn heat wave. The wine was peddled by that rimmerman guy...well, not really dreadful at all, just not better than Gruet for a few fewer $$$.

The 06 Briords is drinking well. Some other stuff, not so well.

I don't care that much, actually, but have the recollection that Joe, on more than one occasion, has forcefully suggested that folks griping here about - for example - their experiences on the Parker/Squires board, should take the gripes back to the folks who run that board. What he said then made sense, but maybe he only had the Parker board in mind. Anyway, most of the time, reading bitching is boring.

By the way, can't we figure out a way to get Joe and David to kiss and make up. Both curmudgeons? Yes, certainly. Both smart guys with character and lots of good things to say here? Yes, certainly.

Who is "the big man"... is this a new code word for Dressner?
