Chantilly, VA? Any Hope?

Looking for somewhere to eat. Won't have wine with me, so a decent list would be nice. Is any of this possible?

I won't have a car and will need to cab it for dinner next Thursday the 18th.

My conference center.

Middle of nowhere, for sure.

Chantilly?? What the hell?
Can't you ever make it north of the Mason-Dixon Line?

Has to be near Dulles because we have people flying in from all over the world.

I don't have a say in these things, or we'd be downtown.

I never thought I'd pine for Bethesda...

I would think it would be like trying to find good chow at CDG, only in Virginia.

I would check a shipper with a decent bottle and order a burger from room service.

Great minds. that was the solution I came up with.

There's a perfectly nice Turkish place called Nizam's about 10 or 15 miles west of Chantilly, right on 123 in Vienna. Not really haut cuisine, but you are looked after and the food is made with care. Don't recall their wine list, but it features some decent Turkish wines, if you feel adventurous.

Two steps up in fancy, and two miles further west is Bistro 123 in Tyson's corner. More classical French, and a more conventional, extensive list of fine wines. Don't know how well-stocked they are on Bourgueils, however. Make a reservation here.

Details for both easy to find with a search - check the Washingtonian article for Nizam's.

There are a couple of other French restaurants in Vienna that look okay, but I haven't dined at them myself.

Have a great trip.

Good Noodle, Chez Francois. Had a hot date there in the late '70s.

Of course, it's a $50 cab ride each way.
