My wine glass is stinky

Like laundry detergent or lichen. It only happens when the wine inside has warmed considerably. At first I thought it must be some kind of household cleaner residue but the odor occurs even after I wash the glass thoroughly with warm water (exclusively). What is the chemistry of glass? Could it be there are still molecules of something offensive clinging to the inside after a good rinse?

A sure sign of spoof.
[In line with established Politburo pronouncement this space will not contain the heretofore obligatory smiley emoticon.]

Do you have a water filter on your tap?
Low levels of chlorine in tap water can sometimes result in a tinny/fishy/musty aroma in some wines. Not sure of the chemistry involved, but I've seen happen enough times (or should that be "smelled it happen enough times?") to feel confident in this.
Try washing the glass with bottled water or wine instead of tap water, and see what happens. If that corrects the problem then maybe you need a chlorine-specific filter on your tap.

This phenomena occurs with all wine in this particular glass when it warms to room temp. I can't figure it out.

Have you tried non-wine liquids warmed up to room temp?

Good idea. I'm going downstairs to fill my glass with room temp rye.

It was the weirdest thing for me for a long time: when I took glasses from my kitchen cabinet, they needed substantial aeration before they could be used to enjoy a beverage without letting off a strange, woody/chemical (but not acrid) odor. My sous-chef-boyfriend-at-the-time (great for most things excepting fidelity) wouldn't drink out of them.

Now I keep my glasses on a bookshelf and the boy far from me.

I used to leave my traveling glasses in a Riedel soft sided wine glass carrier, but they acquired the smell of the polyester. Ech. No more of that.

Things can get caught in the "pores" of glass.

If some kind of caustic agent -- perhaps the aforementioned rye -- doesn't clean it up, then just throw it out. It would be therapeutic disorderly to like a glass too much.
