2001 CVNE Imperiale Reserva

Pretty good. Lithe, slightly bitter fruit on the approach, long black cherry finish, good acidity. A pleasant fullness to it. A bit edgy but should calm down a bit with age. I'll let my other bottle sit.

With more air it's become surprisingly oaky. Not something I noticed at first. A lot less enjoyable than earlier. I'll definitely wait on the second bottle and hope the oak is absorbed.

Decent match with rib lamb chops.
