Rants and Ravings
- I tasted Haag for over a year in excess of 15 times out of any format up to 3L. It's the Spatlese of the vintage, a mind blowing mind that will evolve easily for 20 years. Stole my heart
- Lamiable. I still have some Millesime and the Special Club. Same village from Philipponat. Good wines indeed but need to taste the whole line up to see if they are up too the challenge or a touch too simple. Not my favorite Terroir either.
- De Montille. This is what I look for in wine: a wine for the long haul that has an interesting development rather than a textbook development. Thanks again Tom Blach for this. Have to go back to m y '83. If I had any.
- my first time with Gunderloch and was not impressed. Truth to be told the bottle was not coming out of perfect storage yet the power of 2001 vintage was not there.
- Locret Lachaud was a pleasant surprise. The Brut version was not nearly as compelling. Incredible QPR for less than EUR 23.
