It's Summer, Show Me Some Skin!!!

A question to the gathered:

When would you like to drink a lot of Orange Wine {tm}??

Inquiring minds want to know.

Our crack team of Orange Wine Gathering Specialists (OWGS) have been hard at work on your behalf, tracking down ORANGE WINES from as far back as 1996 to serve at a dinner attended by the many denizens of wineD. But the question remains, when do folks want to drink said wines over a dinner especially designed for their delectation (uni and bread crumbs, et. al.)?

Wines have been gathered from the four corners (more?) of the Italian Boot. Modernists, Traditionalists, Who-i-don't-even-know-ists, and More are represented amongst the bounty. This is good times people!!

BUT...

Said crack team (team on crack?) would like to open said ORANGE WINES for the first annual (and perhaps only) Hey it's Summer, Show Me Some Skin!! Skin Contact White Fest-O-Val. And we need YOUR help!!!

On what day do you want to THROW DOWN SOME PROTESTANT COLOR?????

More importantly, on what day are you prepared to be in NY City, on an empty stomach, with nothing too important to do the next morning?

Your answers in the response section please! Those answers containing the words Monday, Tuesday, or Sunday are those most likely to be more than just phantasms from the binary world, and actually, you know, happen in our walking around, talking world.

WE (that is to say I) WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME SKIN!!

The question is: when?

We will open a bunch of stuff (good stuff!). We will provide you with dinner. We will encourage you to bring your own Orangina good stuff for the benefit of the greater SHOWING DUDES SOME SKIN GOODNESS. We will keep it small, because really, who understands will understand. And, umm, sorry, about, this, you know, but there will be some sort of (waaaay toooooo little for what is being given) charge involved per person.

When do you want to be there?

Let dudes know, please.

and we can all SHOW EACH OTHER SOME SKIN

Good stuff has been collected. Good stuff wants to be drunk. You may have even better and more interesting stuff in your cellar, just waiting for such an occasion. AND WHEN WILL THAT OCCASION BE?????

You Decide!!

Where: NYC, at this place in Tudor City

When: Dinnertime, say on a Monday or Sunday or Tuesday

Who: The OWGS
and you, dude!

Details: You have our Orange Wine, you bring your own Orange Wine, we eat Dinner

When further (like which month/day): Up to you!!!!

Cost: yeah, I mean, there will be one of those involved

Contact: The OWGS can only be reached by leaving messages in this forum. That's how single minded the Men and Women and Other of the OWGS are!

Talk to OWGS and

Show Some Skin!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a great idea. I look forward to following along from afar.....wish I could be there. I've at least got one 2000 Collio I could conceivably pop simultaneously in the spirit of things.

Sunday, 6 September would be really peachy for me, since I'll be in NYC. But either of Greg's suggestions could be achievable in a pinch, though I'll need to crash on someone's floor. Hopefully, it's orange carpeting...

As anyone who reads my blog knows, I hate these darn wines.

Oh, OK, count me in.

July 19 works for me, as do the Monday and Tuesday of that week, for example.

This Sunday is great for me.

I had a very boring orange wine from Oregon last night, we bailed on it and drank pink instead. Please not to include 2005 Francis Tannahill 'Jack', 34% Pinot Blanc, 33% P. Gris, 33% chard.

So long as I'm not out of town (7/11-7/19) or on call (8/3-8/9, 9/7-9/13) or otherwise committed (random but includes 7/20) I'd probably be available. Labor Day weekend is out. But don't go by my calendar since work has had an annoying tendency to take me out of circulation on weeknights and weekends in recent time.

Noted. And disaster averted.

I'm still planning to organize the west coast version of this. Simultaneous if possible! How fun would that be?

Oh, and the '04 Tannahill Jack was similarly boring, particularly for a wine billed as a "baby Gravner".

That sounds good to me as I'll be on the westcoast then.
Best, Jim
