Orlando wine shops?

Will be traveling to Orlando next week for M-I-L's 80th. We have been charged with bringing wines to a dinner one night, and I really don't want to lug wines from the cellar all the way there for a variety of reasons. Any Disorderlies have any experience (positive, especially) with wine shops in Orlando? I'd like to find a place at least one cut above ABC and if there's something even better out there, tanto mejor! FWIW, we'll be staying near to Disneyland in a Hyatt resort I believe, but I'm willing to travel a bit for a decent wine shop (no, not as far as Bern's)

I queried a friend with considerable national wine sales experience. His reply:

"He's s.o.l.
Orlando is the home of cold, cheap American beer and Nascar.
I'd be hard pressed to think of a more generic place in the U.S."

Tampa is a little far to run out for a bottle, I imagine. You guys probably travel with too much luggage, but styro shippers work pretty well.
 
Mark, look at it as a challenge. It could be the new reality TV hit: We dropped this winegeek and his family into backwater Florida. Will they find the only bottle of decent riesling in Orlando or will they ruin the whole party with a case of cooked Beaujolais? Tune in and find out!

Cool idea, Kay. Perhaps we shop the concept to Food Nitwork? or Bravo? It's not out of the question that I'll score some decent Muscadet, either. I've found Pepiere for sale before in Daytona, which is every bit much of a cultural backwater as Orlando IME.

I gave wine-searcher a quick fly. You're right! Granite de Clisson avilable here.

This place is not so good as the first but you can probably source something half-decent (e.g., basic Trimbach, basic MSR, Cline mourvedre).

The only mention of a U.U. hell I can recall scripture wise is "Florida in the summer". Repent and you might be saved yet.

Nice find, Jeff. Despite the slightly OTT website, it does look like they have some decent stuff (and good storage). JJ Prm! '04 WS, no less. OK, but maybe not the best for pop and pour. And searching for Muscadet on the website turns up no hits, sad to say.

Isn't Totalwine a chain of some sort? I'm worried about a store that doesn't feel it necessary to place vintage years on their website. Anyway, thanks again for the finds.
