TNR: Lafouge Meursault

I've had a slew of 04 Deux Montilles and have been strangely underwhelmed...which really surprised me...as I love 04 Burgundy and I would think I'd like what they do...

Two experiences with the 2006 Lafouge Meursault this year, both, I admit, seemingly in conflict.

5/14/2009: I opened this the prior night, and after a few minutes of air, the vanilla and toast came on strong, round in the mouth, somewhat dull due to low to mid acidity. I did not drink much of it. On the second night, this showed vanilla, cream and a very round, soft palate. Lacks cut, definition and nuance. '05 is much better.

3/15/2009: Not as oaky as I would have thought, and surprisingly less oaky than the Lafouge Auxey from the same vintage one night before. A step up in body and richness, but less detail than the Auxey. I would age this for a couple of years.
