i have two friends who work for unicef who will be in copenhagen for the next 2 weeks. anyone have any food/wine recommendations? any advise is greatly appreciated.

Is wine the most important? These two are favorite wine bars:

-Bacchus Vinbar, Viktoriagade 8 (no homepage, weird and great selection. Open 16-24 everyday (closed sundays)). A little food can be served.

-Terroiristen, Jgersborggade 52, only open thursday, friday and saturday evening. A little out of the closest centrum, but well worth a taxi-ride. See www.terroiristen.dk (the selection is mostly what you find in this pricelist http://www.winewise.dk/downloads/WineWisePrisliste2007.pdf - but these prices are sale-prices to private by the bottle). Same owner. Most wines by the glass.

Restaurants:

-Casa d'Antino, Dronningens tvrgade 43, www.casadantino.dk, great selection of older italian wines. Cheap decent food.
-Era Ora Overgaden neden vandet 33B. www.era-ora.dk, Great food. Italian.
-Noma, Strandgade 93 www.noma.dk Expensive top restaurant, nordic kitchen

Here's the list we were given, all of them unfathomably expensive at the then-current (and probably still-current) value of the American dollar:

Noma
Strandgade 93
+45 3296 3297

Paustian
Kalkbrnderilbskaj 2
+45 3918 5501

The Paul
Vesterbrogade 3
+45 3375 0775

Ensemble
Tordenskjoldsgade 11
33 11 33 52

formel B
Vesterbrogade 182
33 25 10 66

Kong Hans Klder

Having said that, we went to none of them, and instead went here:

Nrrebro Bryghus
Ryesgade 3, N
3530 0530

Fabulous brewhouse, great degustation menu in which each dish is cooked with beer and served with matched brews of very high quality. I loved the place.
