I had hoped to be there for the ceremony, but a health issue kept me from attending. So, it is from home that I propose a toast to Mark Criden - long time WT and WD participant who is marrying today. Mark is a comic book geek, HBO enthusiast, Rhone lover, great father, and all around good guy.
The first time I hosted Mark, I texted him to say that I was going to pick him up from the train station in town. When I was late, he texted me back, "Good Joke." He generously left an 87 Chave Hermitage and 95 Chave St. Joseph unopened at the end of the night.
The second time I hosted Mark, he had a lovely woman on his arm, and his usual charisma and good humor was even more contagious. The correctness of the match was palpable.
Mazol Tov, Mark, to you and your beautiful wife.
Amy and I will be visiting as soon as we can.
Best,
Joe
