2004 Luneau-Papin Le D'Or- Not much I can say that hasn't already been said here and elsewhere, but this was drinking beautifaly last night. I know these can age for quite a while but I'm not sure I can keep my hands off the rest. Not a bad match with BLT's (local heirloom tomatos are at their peak now) and grilled mirai corn. A special type of japanese corn i had never eaten before.
2004 Truchot-Martin Gevrey Chambertin Aux Combottes- I opened this the other night after hearing complaints that '04 red burgs were showing green. Well not this one. This wine was just perfect with roast chicken. Nice red fruits and a subtle but evident acidity that just danced on your tongue. On the nose a bit of clay (?) or something i can't describe.
Hard to open Truchot's knowing my supply is a finite. Is anyone making wine like this anymore? Really lovely stuff. I could drink this all day.
