02 Closel and 07 Fougeray de Beauclair

On Fougeray, older wines do seem hit and miss, but in-line with the vintages - the 98 Bonnes Mares is in an awful sand-paper tannin place right now but gives me the impression it's been like that since day-1, the 2000 Clos Marion is in a lovely place, two bottles this week already. 05/06 at the domaine were very nice.

Give them a less challenging vintage, and I think the wines are fine.

2002 Closel Papillon last night was very tasty. You might think of it as advanced, but to my mind it seems to have started ahead in the race, but it doesn't seem to be running very fast. Mine was not brown, nor terribly cidery. I'm in no panic to open my few bottles, but it's in a good place now if I do.

That sounds good. You probably have better storage than I do. I am curious to see what happens to my last bottle.
