Bought at an outdoor "tent sale" in Elon NC about 10 yrs ago on a hot day...
1996 Marqus de Velilla Ribera del Duero, estate bottled by Grandes Bodegas S.A., alc 12.5%...some maturation of color with browning at the edges....nose of leather/horse tack room with a sweet note and a bit of sweet spiciness... mature but abundant plum and currant and other dark fruit on the palate with a very few dusty tannins and a silky texture...the finish is a little drying but still pleasurable and evokes a dusty leather quality...quite a nice wine...the punch line...it cost $4 (four) dollars!!!
