Cru closed for renovations

And the monkey?

Where was he in all this?

Buying wines from an Acker auction from another criminal.

You know, I just like to be part of it. To feel like I belong.

A few observations:

1. Koch has a topflight, major LA law firm (no surprise).

And yet there still managed to be a mistake in the brief (or whatever the fuck it was).

What the hell do they teach in law school?

I thought the brief was surprisingly sloppy. In addition to typographical errors, they also referred to Ponsot as a "vineyard owner." In fairness, they may have prepared the complaint in a hurry, but even then there's no excuse for repeating a sentence.

Sounds like yet another reason not to get involved in this side of wine.

SFJoe - I've got your 1891 Huets waiting for shipment instructions.

VLM - you'll have to pay upfront for the '45 Rougeard: your cards were all declined.

Kane - we topped all the Savenniere's up with simple syrup as requested, so you're all set.

Excellent, as I had already sold it in the Sept. Acker auction to .sasha.

Scott, Has Ocean Spray delivered the Chave yet?

The Ocean Spray cuvee is sold out. But we're keeping your upfront payments and sending you VitaminWater Chave instead.

As you know, the VitaminWater Chave is much more valuable so we'll be hitting your card for a few bucks extra. No need to thank me!

Yes, we noticed that and are charging for both the original price and the re-stocking.

Oh, c'mon Levi, don't you have anything else to say?

Uh, just walking by, without going in, I couldn't see anything resembling a renovation. Perhaps it was back of the house changes that were made.

I almost went last night, when it appears they were closed just on account of it was Monday.

But I hope I can visit when I'm back in town over the next few weeks. Lots of travel coming up.

Isn't "Closed for renovations" a tried and true euphemism for being shut down for health code violations? Not that I'm suggesting anything...

Quite often, but not when you've lost your chef and cranked your wine prices in the middle of a recession and emptied your dining room. It could just be that you're trying to figure out the plan.

When the kitchen isn't so pressed, I bet you can stay ahead of the DoH.

I say that sadly. I like the place and wish it were doing better.

They also had an eviction notice on their door recently.
Oh, I used to get those all the time on 48th St.

Very enthusiastic landlady, Leona Helmsley.
