In SoCal, at least, it left me with the feeling that there wasn't anything that came from anywhere nearby...
Keep in mind that much of SoCal is desert and not suited for most agricultural pursuits (or to sustaining large human populations, but that's another rant). Any "locally" grown produce is going to require irrigation, heavy dosing with fertilizer and trucking in from some distance. Not the greatest setup for a "buy local" initiative unless, like Eden, you live in the fertile enclaves hugging the coastline.
