Candoni Prosecco & SCMV PN w/dinner...

Peter Creasey

Peter Creasey
Candoni Prosecco Brut --
Very pale, MANY bubbles.
Citrus, touch of honey, fresh, effervescent.
Nice fullness for a Prosecco, lemony nuance, only slight touch of sweetness offsets the dryness, honeyed notes. [B+]

Santa Cruz Mountains Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir '89 --
Dark red.
So voluptuous, huge spice, earth, dark fruit (plums and berries?), ultra complex.
Mellower on palate, fine purity of berry fruits, black pepper, some toastiness, nice balance, more sophisticated than coarse, at peak and holding, seemed to gain density in the glass.
Moderate to lengthy finish that's smooth and sustaining. [93]

Served with Sea Bass with Fennel Salad, Parsnip Puree, and Orange Beurre Blanc followed by Pecan Tart AND...

Rahsaan, I told JoAnne that you questioned the culinary expertise in the preparation of the Butterfinger.

This dessert was a whimsical surprise as she knows that I really like Butterfingers.
