What is going on Thursday evening, Oct. 29th?

Wish I would have gone, I found I even had a bottle of the 2006 Guttarolo to contribute. I discovered it it after purchasing a 2007 and, to much chagrin, the price of the 2007 is about a third more than I payed for the 2006. I believe the price increase can be attributed to either the fancy new label or events like these and Asimov that are spoiling it for everyone.

Yeah, I am sure the market for Michigan Pinot Gris is going to skyrocket now.

The '07 is more expensive than the '06 Guttarolo Anfora because Polaner takes a cut now.

Wag your finger somewhere else.

I am thrilled so many of you have apparently survived.

Only just barely.

My favorites were the Vodopivec and the Cos Pithos 2005 that Cory brought. For me, I found that the method dominates the wine to an extent that the differences are even less pronounced than they are for Orange wine in general. The wines also tended to be more gentle than the Orange wines. That being said, they were, as a group, delicious but prohibitively expensive.

As Joe already pointed out, Levi did a fantastic job of putting this together and he and his staff pulled it off with grace.

It was great to see old friends and make new acquaintances (Putnam is real, he's not just another one of Coad's inventions).

I'm sorry for breaking that glass.

Looks like Foillard was a raver in a past life. Who knew?

Actually his wife designed the label. I think it looks very Atari/Space Invaders.

Hmm, so does the Guttarolo Anfora '07 label.

I knew there was a connection!

Any picture wherein my hand obscures a large portion of my face is a good picture. But my goodness, I'm like a Norse giant next to Alice.

Just as a point of reference, I would say that the Gravner "Breg" vintages tended to show on Day 2 in a more appealing way than the Gravner Ribolla vintages.

Also, the Vodopivec really lost some luster for me on the second day. And the 2nd release Guttarolo "Anfora" Primitivo '07, the release shown at the dinner, held up great on Day 2, which was not always the case with the 1st release of that wine.

Social custom question:

Is it customary for bloggers to give photo credits, or to link back to the source of pictures, or is that typically not done?

Just curious.
