1999 Baron de la Charrire Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chnes Vieilles Vignes, alc 13%, $40...nice underbrush/forest nose...this opens up nicely with dark fruit and a significant intensity...almost jammy but not in an overripe way but more of a fresh fruit compote...the tannins are only moderate at most... drinks as if it younger than the stated age....really showing well and matched mushroom soup very well...
