my friend andy will be in minneapolis this upcoming tuesday night. can anyone recommend a restaurant? doesn't have to be 4 star, but unique to minneapolis and is good for a solo diner.

The Happy Gnome in St. Paul has pleasant ambience, and a very respectable selection of single malts. It's not going to make a Michelin critic's top five meals of the year, and wine list is far from a wine lover's dream, but the food and service are quite enjoyable, and the place is not overpriced.

If Andy requires a Grand Cru Burgundy to attain satisfaction, you may need to look elsewhere. To me, an Ardbeg Nam Beist, or Murray McDavid: Caol Ila 1990 Chateau Haut Brion Cask on the menu can make up for that.
