Beaujolais 2008

I guess I should count myself lucky that we get access to Lapierre, Vissoux, and others through Bassin's. Though I think I heard somewhere that the beaujolais isn't selling, like just about everything else, so they might stop bringing them in. That would make me quite sad.

Bell's is still probably a good wine store. They just don't carry that much stuff that I'm interested in. It is very pointy. Their Bordeaux and California sections are huge, which is why I suspect they get the acclaim they do, and they have some interesting Italian wines, but their Loire, Burgundy, and German wines aren't great.

What are the constituents in red wine that buffer redox reactions?
After SO2, you have mostly phenolic things--anthocyanins, tannins, and the odd other item (a bit of glutathione, perhaps).
