1994 Dr. Loosen UW Auslese 23 95
Had a bottle back in 2001 and thought it should sleep. Maybe I've left it a bit too long as two recent bottles have been tired. The bottle tonight was better. Bright gold (still darker than I expected), touch of botrytis, mellow, very much more Graach/Wehlen than Urzig (ahem), attenuated finish. Very good with food, though, given the ample acidity. Lots of '94s are starting to drink properly now in what I think of as the adolescent phase. Also good to revisit an old friend - most of the older wines from Loosen from the '90s have been pleasant surprises.
