(Congrats. You're a wine geek.)

So true. If I had more of a drinking problem, the clutter in my apartment wouldn't be so dire.

the shopping problem is not really a problem; it is a genuine optimism for both the future quality of our purchases and our continuing affection for our friends, should we (or they) be so lucky.

Hah, as a collector, and one who once shepherded the collections of others, well, err, welcome to the club. I just bought some 2006 Allemand and Clape that my mighty $15/hour could not afford but did that stop me? Not when there's IRAs to cash in, no. Too much wine... As in, to consume in the near future? Or as in to satiate your need to see Bottle X or Bottle Y develop with just a wee bit time? Honestly, I should not buy a bottle of wine for two years plus and would still drink better than most+. But I'm a crack whore. And if you post about having too much wine in a public forum, basically just take the pipe when I hand it to you and draw deeply. Why, I might even rub the spittle off first...

In fact just this past Saturday we had our annual "drink my wine party" where we invited 50+ people and I put out 65+ bottles of wine from "all over"...about 38 bottles were emptied but the rest were untouched!!

Is this a complaint? If so, I'm happy to supply my mailing address.

They're popping up all over the place. I say we just sticky the "Fuck Off Newbies" thread so as to not let anyone fall through the cracks.

Friends? What friends? I've got wine, I don't need no stinkin' friends...

Umm, no, really, things aren't that bad. But I digress.

It's not exactly the optimism of drinking wine at the exact correct moment when that particular bottle will be at its peak (as if) but I've learned that having a lot of wine in the cellar (and in the garage and stacked in the closets and in the bathroom) makes one feel immortal (as opposed to drinking a lot of wine that makes one feel immoral) and implies that you really have amounted to something in life and are a Person of Substance, despite lacking a viable 401k, a brand-new Escalade (with spinners, of course), or the notoriety of Lady Gaga or Tiger Woods.

-Eden (personally, I'd rather have a box of 06 Allemand and Clape any day over a split-level ranch house next to the golf course anyway)

Zachary, your response is useless. If I were 75 years old, I might type the terms into Google, but I was in fact looking for a swift explanation by like-minded readers.

Ur so lasey.

I clicked on nothing and remain benighted.
