Tighten

You'd think that on a thread that started out with a pun on Loosen that it wouldn't be hard to think of a way to reference Lentz but I've been drawing a blank all day.

I looked up 'lasy,' no definitions. Is this anther one of those inside disorder things?

No, it's more of a Thor thing. As we all know that jokes are funnier when explained here it is...

Is this an example of lase majest, Jay?

Actually, this is the third time I've read the "jokes are funnier when explained" line. The first time I read it was in a Joe Dougherty post. When I saw it over Jay's sign-off in this thread, I began to wonder whether it was some kind of shibboleth among the disorderly eminence grises, or just a 100th monkey kind of thing.

If both Joe and Jay are saying it, in any event, it must be a top-notch observation; and, if I'm patient - and watchful - I hope to be able to say it, too, some day.

With Chris Coad gone, no one even remembers the high palmy days of joke explaining. Can someone raise from the dead one of his posts explaining jokes?

Well, some rats just wander around, and others are mazers.

This does not make a particle of sense. I should probably wave good bye to the entire thread.

A mazer is a vessel which holds mead, so since I am, too, this apparently makes me some kind of rat. An equally good reason to vacate the thread.

Not a bad logic.

But that is how I got sucked in, so beware.

I do miss the CC, although he did once rail against my Catholic film taste.
