Champagne, for the win

Love that Blanc d'Argile. I think it's in the 42 range hereabouts.

Agrapart has some good fare; the regular non-vintage brut Les 7 Crus is nice Ctes des Blancs stuff with an equanimous 7g/l of dosage.

I've not had that much Champagne this year but was digging on the NV Jose Michel 'Pinot Meunier' Brut recently. The current release of this is tasting great. One of my biggest surprises this year was the NV Dumont Douce Cuve Demi-Sec. A true Demi-Sec and a serious wine.

Do you have the Clouet that Levi mentioned?

Sorry to bag on Leclapart a bit, but you know how I be.

No Clouet is not me. I guess it is one of the Hipster Champagnes that I don't have yet. I do have the following: Jacques Selosse, Jrme Prvost, Vouette et Sorbe and Jacques Lassaigne. The Jose Michel Champagnes are rocking but I don't think one would classify him as hipster, even with his use of meunier but they sure are good.

Let me find some C. Bouchard to open for the toast. Let's see, it's around here somewhere...

Batiste-Pertois's Champagnes when I knew that the line was finished.

Batiste-Pertois = Ruelle-Pertois?
No. Batiste-Pertios was a different producer, but ceased to exist, oh, I don't know, maybe 15-17 years ago (Kermit's last shipment was in 1996). I'm unaware of whether Ruelle-Pertois is a relation, but the wines bear little or no resemblance to B-P's, and R-P is located in Moussy on the Cte d'Epernay, although they do have some vines at Cramant where B-P's estate was.

Gonet, maybe? If so, which one? I have liked one very much but not the other. One is in located in Mesnil, roughly between Peters and the Salon/Delamotte facility. The other is further down the hill near de Souza, IIRC.

I like Pierre Peters too. At a large Champagne tasting, Gonnet stood out for me, maybe because I had never had it before, but another vote for that. And it costs fewer dollars to boot.

Indeed Gonet, and from les Mesnil. I didn't see another cuvee at the tasting.

Jean and I just had a bottle of the Michel Gonet BdB GC in Chicago last week and loved it, minerally and floral with lots going on on the palate. I appears to be brought in by Kermit Lynch now.

I don't know if this is where I am supposed to throw in the traditional board greeting, but between this thread and Jeff Beck dying, I got that piece of lint out of my eye.
