I purged all the shit out of the cellar and it's all on Winecommune - have at it!

How expensive is the Clerico?
Let's take the actual bidding to email, shall we?

It lacks a certain generality of interest for the rest of us.

Sorry Politburo, but this is a free market, capitalist system.

You could say that about a fair amount of what goes down here. I say you favor your friends.

Watching the bidding on RSS feed might be kind of cool. Observers could be betting on the bidding.

FWIW, I've used WineBid successfully in the past.

Me too, but it was a bit more of a pain than I would have liked.

My preference would be to sell it to a restauranteur who admired the wines and would pass them on to the public. Although they haven't worked out for me, I've taken very good care of them and would like to see them appreciated by someone who likes the style more than I. But I'm sort of silly and sentimental sometimes.

I agree with Scott - it just goes somewhere else after we're done with it; whether it's the right place or just a place is immaterial and invariably none of our business and only hurts when you think about it.

Seller's remorse is a drag.

When was the modernist (ab)use of oak in its apogee? Bottles from the Degrazia gang circa 1990 vintage (first serious Barolo purchases) were pretty marked.

My estimate would be '97, although '00 could be described as a climax, of sorts, also.

Speaking of academia, just finished my last paper for the term. Phew. Now I start drinking again.

BTW VLM, WHWC's is the first release. Confirmed.
