Quick rec for Riesling??

People may say that but I'm not sure it very useful to speak in such superlatives. For my tastes I prefer to say there is a unique elegance to Prum that makes their wines stand out among others of the same caliber. Although clearly there are so many options for 'great' German riesling that we can scratch all sorts of itches without worrying about a handful of specific producers.

Nah. I would go with there is nothing better than Prum at his best - and the best I have had is a 1983 WS GC Auslese.

I know what you mean.

It's like, why do all these other German estates even bother to make wine at all? Seems like such a waste of everyone's time. Prum and Avatar are the BESTESTEST FOREVER.

Duh.

The previous was a blatant and perhaps unnecessary attempt to keep my reputation for Special Achievement in Dudgeoned Post-Work Posting intact.
