Our own Chris Coad turns 39. Happy birthday, Chris and may you have many, many more.

And a belated birthday greeting goes out to Joe Dressner who turned 69 this past Monday. Congratulations, Joe!

In their honor I present to this forum something no wineboard should be without, a tasting note on the non-vintage Renadart-Fache, Bugey Cerdon sparkling rose: flavorful sweet fruit with a clean, lingering finish complimented by natural carbonation. Even better on day two and still holding its fizz.

I see the effects from your stay at Guantanamo have lingered, Kay. That, or perhaps Chris is channeling Dressner, but he was mentioning on Sunday that he's a whopping 45. Not a bad Port year as I recall.

Bob Semon was also 39 this year, and in his honor we opened a lovely 69 Baumard QdC; I recommend it to all 39 year olds. For next year's birthday, I would open a 1970 Taylor, but am open to other suggestions.

We had some 85 Huet CdB Moelleux in honor of Chris because we know how much he likes Mythical Vouvray.

ETA: It goes really well with a creamy, slightly smokey pasta sauce.
