Bettane is a big boy, he can take it.

I know it's supposed to be a humorous thread drift, but I'm puttin' the schoolmarm hat back on. Saying "chacun son got," implying that tastes differ, is not the same thing as saying "tous les gots sont dans la nature" i.e. for every thing, no matter how curious or seemingly distasteful, there is someone who likes it.

Yeah, Sharon; I don't think Thor was trying to equalize the two expressions. Rather he was - so atypical for him - making wordplay with 'gout'.

That gingham dress and nanny bonnet must be getting awfully itchy by now.

Jeff, does your mom still say that?

We had the '04 Vatan Clos la Nore last night (a couple of bottles do reach the forlorn southwestern corner of Europe). While there was no '03-style clunkiness, it was remarkably inexpressive and stayed that way for three hours. Couldn't resist the comparison with a complex (while still terribly young) '01 Dagueneau Buisson Renard.

I had a bottle around Thanksgiving and it was more expressive, but it took awhile to get there and seemed to me to be in need of more sleep.

...and that is my favorite posting to date on Wine Disorder! The back of my head aches from laughing too much. Could not get Black Cat to watch....
