CWD: '02 Paul Pillot Chassagne something-or-other

Yeah, Chardonnay, I know. Suck it.

Nicely delineated. About the right shade of yellow-gold for its age. Almost dark enough that you expect some (normal) oxidation, but the crispness of the wine shocks you out of complacency. This was about the time I stopped buy white Cote d'Or wine. Should have grabbed another bottle or two of this one; seems to be aging nicely. Quite tasty now, but even better things are to come, I think.

Les Caillerets, for those following along at home.

So unnecessary. Just because there are, like, two people on this board who don't enjoy chardonnay (and one of them is Brad Kane), you needn't put such "disclaimers."

However, you could have said, "Chassagne, I know."

ETA: Actually, I think with the disappearance of Coad, that really does only leave Kane and Dougherty in the anti-chardonnay playpen. I'd say "putsch," but it doesn't seem worth rousing the masses....

Replace "fun" with "painful" and I'll agree. What's fun about the "everyone hates chardonnay" gag? At worst, pandering. At best, old hat.

I feel strongly about this, whence the strident rhetoric.

(You can laugh up your sleeve, as long as you pound a big glass of Leflaive after.)
