I, too, had mixed feelings about the wines of Didier Dagueneau when I was a younger winegeek. It was only in recent years (the last eight or so, to be exact) that I think I finally started to understand and enjoy them. This is devastating news. An immense loss for the world fo real wine.

Had a lovely bottle (perhaps a 96 Silex) with the doghead himself years ago. Very sad.

Hmmm...loved the couple of wines I had from him in the late-80's and
an early-90's, and thought he was definately an 'original'. Too bad...
