Pronunciation
If you simply read it, the normal pronunciation is "la`gwee`ole,"
and the locals pronounce the town name as "lai`yole." The French generally pronounce it as "la`gwee`ole," but knife enthusiasts in particular pronounce it as "lai`yole."

in the spirit of attempting to restore a small portion of the seasonal goodwill which i so quickly forgot about, i'd like to apologize to anyone i might have offended with my homeboy tirade, snide remarks, and everything else here that i typed which does not make much sense. a rough day, far too many drinks that night and not enough wits about me to just go to bed. my apologies (and a deep bow)
