I think there would be a limit as to how far left and right the audience could sit, not sure if it would be enough to matter...
 
In school I minored in animation due mostly to my love of stop-motion animation (think Ray Harryhausen)...I'm probably dating myself to you young fellows, but in my lifetime I have been rendered immobile by the big screen with effects three times - Return of the Jedi - Jurassic Park - Avatar 3D.

Not Smagol & Shelob? Those are still unmatched in the pre-Avatar film world, I think.

No mention of Wallace and Grommit? That's the peak for me.
 
That's different. That's in the Pixar, etc. realm. Different rules. I think -- I could easily be wrong, I can't stand to read Cameron on the subject of Cameron -- that he's trying to move the technology closer to realism, hence the Smagol/Shelob comparison.

Jittlov! So cool. Met him once, long ago. Mad as a hatter (only writes in green ink, etc.) Great guy. At that time, did all his work on a tiny little station that fit into a suitcase.

ETA: Just found his Swing Shift. Thanks, Joe, for the nudge! Now I'd like to find his "Fashionation".

You met him? That's awesome. My animation professor was a stop-motion crazy man too. He did "Snowbeast" and a Dokken video, not quite as impressive...
 
I was chairman for a small SF con at my college. Jittlov was one of the speakers. He brought all the shorts. He brought an unpublished work, "Turtle Joak (sic)". He admired the vibes of one of our local pizza joints. And he spoke about his history with Disney and then about his techniques, particular for WST.
 
I don't know who I am more jealous of, you or Hoke (who has kicked it with some vintage Fantasy authors).
 
As a kid, I loved the way he wrote about boobies in the books. Now, that's not for everyone...
