2009 WIWPies of the Year

I think Eden has been screwed! er, rather, unfairly overlooked. In any event, if we were giving awards for most entertaining writer (at least in the absence of Coad), I'd give the award to Eden with a first runner up award to Sharon (who is hot on Eden's trail on this one).

The Highest Parker-Rated European Winemaker Who Posts on Wine disorder for Old Time's Sake Award
Remember, Spain is no longer rated by Parker, but by Miller. Therefore I think the highest-rated honor probably belongs to ric Texier. And I certainly don't post here for old times' sake - I really enjoy, as a reputed Philistine, the honor of being tolerated on a board where vinous truth is preached and where I may yet find, one day, redemption.

Agreed. This is almost as bad as when Fargo didn't win Best Picture.

(Good taste as always from Maureen, excepting her tendency to display on overly open mind about slightly oaky GC Burgundies).

And a very nice retort as well!

(where does one go to nominate Maureen and VS to serve on the Politburo?)

And I almost listed you as runner up to Eden! I'm still in awe of that fever dream you described (or whatever it was).

What makes you think there are 3 Marks and 2 Mar{c,k} Davis'?

We could be the same person using 3 accounts...just to confuse you...

We always post all the stupid notes with my account.

Kidding aside: Marc and I have a very similar palate from what i can tell....so it doesn't really matter if you confuse us. :)

No love for Loire Maestro Don Rice, either.

It is a cold and cruel Politburo.
I'd say the contrary--too long a list.

But I really miss fatboy's festive favorites. Once he takes over his world we'll have to drag him back here more.

I was posting when the founders of this esteemed board were posting on Robin Garr's board. I remember when SF Joe really lived in San Francisco and we all jeebused together in that city (including Victor de La Serna.) The founding members of this board were restricted to a place called the basement on Robin's board.Steve Plotnicki was our only wine "expert". I could relate more but I have promised to keep the really good stuff under wraps until Chris's tell all tale is released in hard cover. I've almost sold all our 97 Austrians and when we do this board will REALLY KNOW the real SF Joe.
I thought this would be my year to be appointed Disorder historian.

I was relatively late to the game, not posting on the WI until 2000, but I think Lou has been the rock of WIWPieness over time. I can honestly say that I wouldn't have taken the '06 WIWPie award without Lou. Can we have a lifetime WIWPie achievement award for Lou?

Also, I suggest a quick decision... just saying.
