IIRC Edmond Vatan has been retiring bit by bit for some years now and there has been speculation that the 2007 was to have been his last vintage - although this has been said before for previous vintages.
However I am sure I recall reading that he handed over the winemaking from his remaining one hectare of the Clos la Nore to his daughter Anne who apparently made the 2008 - although he may well have taken more than a passing interest in its production.
Anne is the wife of Nady Foucault [Clos Rougeard]
Does anybody have confirmation of this, the latest, Vatan retirement and the extent, if any, of his [continuing] involvement?
