Kudos to Chambers Street

Is David really old enough to have a son that age?
My goodness.
Best, Jim

And David's daughter is old enough as well. Eben is very tall, gives him stature. Which helps when he drops anything he is doing to help attractive lady customers in need of top notch wine advice and service...

We were in South Carolina at Christmas and ordered up a nice half case from them - fun mix of Beaujolais, including the Descomes Regnie and Morgon.

I went to Chambers Street for the first time on Christmas Eve. The guy who helped me was extremely helpful. Got the 2002 Huet Brut and an NV Clouet. The Huet was great (as expected), apple-y, vibrant, a touch saline, and long (though a little bitter on the finish) and looking forward to opening the Clouet for New Year. My only regret was that I didn't buy more of the Huet and was too squeamish to get the Larmandier-Bernier.

And Zucker's next door wasn't bad either. Lox, cream cheese, tomato, and capers on a bagel. Delish (surprisingly tasty tomato, considering the time of year).

Too squeamish for Larmandier-Bernier? Yet you seem willing to consider chicken sashimi.

Sorry. I meant I was squeamish about the price. Looked great though, especially the rose.

It's all about the packaging.

I won't lie. The packaging was pretty cool.

It just needed a cute kawaii critter on the label, and I would have been sold, price be damned. Perhaps they should do a cross-promotion with Hello Kitty.

Just enjoyed my first visit as well over the holidays. Very friendly staff. God I wish some of that stuff was brought into WA, especially the Jurassics. I'm not much of a mail-orderer but I guess I'm gonna have to start. Left with a La bota #15, Foillard Py, and Huet 01 bubble of which only the Huet can be had back home.
