Mallo 2002 Riesling Rosacker (Alsace) Rocks with a heavy dose of salt. Intense and powerful. The thin layer of sweetness doesnt detract, exactly, but its not really necessary either, and the wine would be better without it. Doesnt approach the complexity of more famous Rosackers, but it does show the characteristics of the vineyard, and thats something. (8/08)

What a coincidence! I was in Hunawihr two weeks ago visiting a friend who made me taste the 2004 Mallo blind. I knew it was from Rosacker, but I couldn't peg the producer or vintage. Did you taste this blind?

Mallo Rocksacker. People tried to sell me this wine a while back as an alternative to Hune. How about selling it as Mallo Rocksacker? I did not buy it.

Clos Ste-Hune as if Brad Kane made it, diluted with water and with a dozen packages of sweetener, yes. The wines aren't even vaguely comparable.
