Joe, All I can say is that I wasn't looking for it (the wood) and it didn't come to my attention.

Truthfully, I was not too enamored with the Sancerre so I didn't spend any time with it...especially since I was anxious to get past it and sample the Condrieu. The Sancerre didn't light any fires but the La Doriane Condrieu was a stem-winder.

I had not been acquainted with the Guigal La Doriane before this occasion. It may have been the wine of the evening...which is saying something.
