Is there any special technique for getting rid of dirty glasses? I only ask because there would seem to be a lot of them in my apartment and the advice would be timely.

According to Audouze, you just throw them out the window, and the boueurs come in their big green truck and sweep them away.

Do we not get more tasting "echoes" than dirty glasses, Mr. Dalton?

I find that if I fill them with water and leave them in the sink to soak, I can reliably break one or two every time I use the sink. Depending on the number of glasses, it usually takes no more than a week to get through all of them this way.

Also, if you clean just one so that you can start drinking again during this period, you can greatly accelerate the process.
