Not particularly impressive aromas - just some sour cherry with a hint of spices - don't prepare for the terrific mouth feel - vibrant acidity, grippy tannins, tangible weight, and a finish that harmoniously mixes light bitterness with a hint of sweetness. With food, the cherry becomes darker, and the bass/drums/guitar combo of coffee, cinnamon and cloves come to the stage and start swinging. More powerful and impressive than yesterday's Bornard Trousseau, this felt complete, the sort of wine that makes me love this grape. Very satisfying on every level, sensual, intellectual, hormonal...

I forgot to mention that this wine seemed to have a fair amount of SO2. Marcia sneezed 14 times, so it must have had around 140mg/l (total). Now I need to get Eric Texier's gadget to plot data points and figure out whether her reactions are arithmetic or exponential.

Such a caring, loving spouse.
