Drinks from the cellar

Oh; the top of his message didn't come on screen when I opened, and I didn't think to scroll up.

I have some 05 Prestige in Magnums, but should probably wait on them a bit. Joe's faint praise is disconcerting.

The wine is very good.

'Very favorite '05 Beaujolais' is pretty a pretty august comparison class, Ian.

To beat a dead horse: my favorite and least favorite bottles of 05 Beaujolais so far have both been Lapierre Morgons. The Tete above, the Foillard CdP, and the Descombes VV Morgon have all had much more interesting things going on on the palate, but the nose on that one good bottle of Lapierre was an experience I'd do almost anything to repeat.

That said, this Tete was a steal when it was still in the marketplace, and if there wasn't so much good stuff out there to drink I'd be weeping over my idiocy in not buying a case.

I aim high.

Off-topic and spammy, but Woodland Hills is clearing out a pile of 08 Vissoux at under-$20 prices. [EDIT] I think they're sold out now.

I'll haul one out next time you blow through town. But then Maureen will likely be present, and I don't think she's drunk the Beaujolais Kool-Aid.
