France Travel Query

Brittany in winter, probably not for the casual.

The temptation to cram is great but resist. 10 days goes quick. Focus.

I agree that the scope is daunting, and I'd suggest limiting the travel to a Paris/Brittany/Loire triangle if the governing theory here is Brittany for her, Loire for him. I also don't think wine appointments are logistically sensible if you're only staying somewhere for a night, unless the next place you're headed is not very far. Beaujolais and the Jura are a long, long way away. Burgundy's not exactly close to Brittany. And while the Loire and Burgundy don't look that far away, I once tried to visit a producer on my way from Sancerre to somewhere near the Luxembourg border, and...well, I cannot recommend against this attempt enough.

That being said, nothing is set in stone yet and I'll think about cutting back some of the ambitiousness.

Scrap Brittany.
I would if I could, but it's really the only way I could get my wife to do this trip. I agree that it throws the biggest wrench into plans. Brittany is for her. Though, we're not going all the way to Brest. We're just going to be north of Rennes; St. Malo. So, not too too far from Saumur.

Hmmm.

In the almost 25 years that I've been traveling to France, I've never been to Brittany. I guess that is a mistake on my part.

Eric Bordolet could be a fun visit. I've never tried to visit him, but he's a super nice guy and makes great stuff.
