GALA GRAND AWESOME STUPENDOUS RE-OPENING TASTING WITH LOUIS/DRESSNER SELECTIONS (LDM WINES ) - 4PM TO 7:30PM

Please join us to celebrate the completion (we hope) of our new store at 148 Chambers Street. It's not bigger and it's not a firehouse, but it's ours and it's got a nice antique bar, better air-conditioning, a bigger refrigerator and a new bathroom. Oh yes, and an even better selection of fabulous natural, organic and bio-dynamic wines from Louis/Dressner Selections. In our opinion, Joe, Denyse, Kevin and Brad Kane at Louis/Dressner work with the most talented and interesting group of winemakers in the world. Their commitment to natural winemaking goes beyond the techniques of vineyard management and vinification and produces wines that beautifully express the year, the grape, the soil and themselves... That is to say, nice people who make delicious wines. We'll taste a grand array of new arrivals from France and Italy, including; 1999 Luneau-Papin Muscadet, 2006 Romorantin from Puzelat, 2002 Pinon Vouvray Tradition, 2007 Baudry Chinon Blanc La Croix Boisees, 2005 Chidaine Montlouis Les Choisilles, 2007 Tue-Boeuf Rouillon, 2007 Terres Dorees Cote Brouilly, 2006 Baudry Chinon Franc de Pied, 2006 Houillon Arbois Poulsard, controversial wines from Rn-Jean Dard, 2003 Cappellano Barbera AB Normal, 2005 Guttarolo Primitivo, and more! And we'll have a delicious cheese and appetizer selection to accompany the wines, not to mention special prices on all LDM wines. Please come down and help us celebrate!

This spam announcement was approved by the Politburo because they agreed it was of interest to fellow Disorderists....Joe

No, Joe just takes my business cards when he comes over and hands them out to random itbers around the country.

could you please postpone this politburo townhall meeting, as I am overseas

I always suspected it. Explains a lot. Nicely done, Bradley...

Oh, and what .sasha said.

Best,

Manuel

(Who is not only overseas, but underwater at the moment)

I hope I remember this one. I walk by (or into) Chambers every day on my way home from work, but forget about it once safely ensconced on the UWS.

I tell you, the number of inside jokes on this site is astronomical. I don't what is real and what isn't. Does Brad work for LDM? Doesn't his love of CdP preclude that association?

Ben! Hi!

Please stick around. I went through the same awful pangs of feeling clued-out a few months ago; after, you get used to those weird things that make no sense, and the rest seems (is) worth it.

So glad you're here!

No. How does it prove your point. Texier and Versino make two different styles of Chteauneuf.

We'd be happy to import Charvin, but my good friend Peter Weygandt already imports that estate.

I was just joking, Joe. I generally agree with the politburo on emoticons, but it may have helped here. If you have to explain a joke it isn't funny, but I was suggesting that those 2 were not modern styled suggesting that's what Brad would like (which was the joke-again apparently not a funny one-I'm funnier in person I guess). Hopefully, I'll meet you on Saturday at Chambers.

Sharon-nice to "see" you here. I'll definitely stick around. Hopefully, I can bring a little balance to this site as I appear to be the only person here who drinks California wines.

Balance? Rather, letting folks know that will make you the butt of jokes, venom spitting, etc.

In short, the enmity of all the disorderlies.

Perhaps a little deeper reading is required. Many of us regularly post on California wines. Some of us even make them.

I count at least 6 prior tasting note threads that include at least one California wine. I'm pretty sure at least Florida Jim and I (at least occasionally) drink wine from California both intentionally and with hope (however faint) that we will derive pleasure from it.
