Does Wine House import their own items? I just thought it was the local retail hot spot for Bobby Kacher imports. K&L direct imports many wines, too.
Wine House has always had a small number of their own imports, e.g., Lamarche, Fichet, and Michelot. At one time more than now, but still some now.

K&L uses a separate importer.

Not sure what the legal structure is, but Vino in San Francisco, Albany, and Oakland is somehow tied to Grape Expectations, too.

SF Wine House acts as a/the west coast distributor for Kacher, they also import directly as Claude says.

K&L has been importing directly more and more. From what I can tell, the buyers deal with the producers
directly and seem to be involved with most of the arrangements. They have set up a separate
entity to simply handle the paperwork of importation in order to comply with the rules. Technically it's a separate company but all it does is their stuff. They've done what they needed to be legal and in control of their direct imports, and at the lowest possible cost. They're so big now they are getting stuff by the container full for their three stores and website.

Cory,

I am sure that everything will work out great for you, but a best of luck never hurts. Certainly you have my well wishes.

I'm not sure, either, and that's after a somewhat lengthy conversation with the guy behind the counter at the Solano Vino! As I recall, he told me that, no, they weren't the retail outlet of Grape Expectations, but, yes, that was the only importer represented in their store ("We really like the stuff they import"). I was left with the impression of some less-than-transparent dealings.

The event starts at 7pm, and at 8pm sharp Joe will be reading aloud from his Kindle selections from Brad Kane's cellartracker notes.

Please let me know the group's and Joe's favorite note(s) so that I may better serve my fanbase.

C'mon, what's in it for us? (your undying gratitude is not a good answer...)
