Was looking forward to some bargain basement access to the Dujac reputation but this spouted brett from the bottleneck like a skunk in heat. Color was pale tawny, promisingly not clouded. After a half hour decant, under the brett - metallic, sweaty, band-aid - there was lovely and serious cherry fruit. Good acidity, pleasantly bitter finish, judicious alcohol. Marcia and I are both brett tolerant, she even more so. So we both enjoyed it, she even more so. Os erom neve ehs, ti deyojne htob ew os.

Wiki usefully describes three brett manifestations:
4-ethylphenol: band-aids, barnyard, horse stable, antiseptic
4-ethylguaiacol: bacon, spice, cloves, smoky
Isovaleric acid: sweaty saddle, cheese, rancidity

I guess we were spared the 4-ethylguaiacol.

Different affinity receptors give different reads at different odorant concentrations.

I bet if you search "durian" you'll find something.

I love durian! We call it jaca (its also known in English as jackfruit).

Different fruits. Jackfruit are in the mulberry family while durian are in a badly-defined family that includes okra, cotton, cacao and baobab. (Sheesh.)

Also, jackfruit originate in India and durian a bit east of there.

But, by 1699, it was all sorted out.
