Just wait until the effects of ocean acidification are more widely knownThen you'll truly be freaked.

Well crap. I was just going to say "global warming my ass." But if that's the way you feel about it...

Ocean acidification makes climate change look like small potatoes.

No problem out here in California. We're just going to dump all that hard-to-sell ultra-long hangtime cult Cab into the Pacific. Should offset the acidity quite nicely.

45 cms in January and now this. Ou est l'chauffement mondial quand on en a besoin?

Well, it's probably rash to make any claim, but it might be global warming at work. Increased snowfall, because warmer air can have a higher moisture content, is one possible regional consequence of global climate change.

Or this winter might be just short term climate variation, which still, of course, exists. Really, I was just joking. The long-term indicators are fairly determinative.

Even more surprising, the huge snowstorm in Barcelona, 200 miles further to the south, and right on the Mediterranean. Real Madrid hooligans like myself really enjoyed the poetic symbolism of FC Barcelona's Camp Nou turning pure white (our colors) just 24 hours after being displaced by the Madrid team from the top position in Spanish soccer league standings... (Funnily, Catalan television was able to file a full report on the unusual phenomenon at the Bara stadium without using the adjective 'white' even once...)

Enjoy the whitening of the blue-and-purple field here:

70 cm!

Well, Real Madrid lost in the Champions' Cup, so I guess Barcelona fans are reconciled to their big snowstorm by now. Sin transit gloria mundi.

Yes indeed, it was more than two feet of snow.
