Lots o' Deliciousness

Finishing up the Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolano while sipping on a succession of very good wines (opened on Friday at our sales meeting):

2008 Clemens Busch Riesling Kabinett Trocken: I've mostly given up on German wines because I'm easily distracted by SO2, but the "dry" wines I've been tasting from the Mosel Wine Merchant portfolio seem to be largely devoid of any noticeable trace of the stuff on the nose and palate. A very solid Yum.

2008 Gunther Steinmetz Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spatlese "Devon": A little more conventional though not without charm. Tasty.

2008 Peter Lauer Ayler Kupp Fass 6 Riesling "Senior": Pure. Takes me there. Yes please.

2007 Souch Juranon Sec: Fuck!!!! Fuck!!!!!! Fuck!!!!!!!!

2006 Puzelat KO Clos de la Roche: Listen up Puzelat detractors, this wine will make you believe (or believe all over again, as was the case for me - I've been disappointed by the extreme levels of ethyl acetate in both the 2007 In Cot We Trust and 2008 Telquel). But this is so delectable.

2007 Occhipinti Siccagno Nero d'Avola: Believe the hype.

2004 Monte dall'Ora Valpolicella Classico Superiore: Not a category I usually get very excited about. But goddammit this is high on the delish-o-meter.

i won't mean to, but i will. i'll send the blame your way.
