Fresh off the rosenthal tanker I enjoyed my first (of many) bottle of the "Baby Bea", San Valetino Umbria Rosso last night with a simple bowl of amatriciana. I am a die hard bea fan and it is really nice to be able to enjoy this all together beautiful wine at a much more affordable price (~35$). Classic Bea nose with some wild herbs, etc and assertive but pleasurable tannins that i am sure will subside once the wine has been state side for a bit. This wine just may destroy my taste for all similarly priced Chianti Riserve and things of the like. The top bottling is always really special to me and this does not replace it but it is nice to be able to crack a Bea more frequently.
Breakdown is around 40% sagrantino with the rest being sangiovese and montepulciano as per usual, though it is 100% Bea.
fuck yeah.
