This may be a long shot, but is there a Huet expert on this board?

Just kidding Joe.

We drank a 2002 Petillant "Reserve" today bought at the winery. Different bottle than the first two disgorgements in the states, and the label says "Reserve." We didn't notice until after we had left the winery, so we couldn't ask if this was indeed a third disgorgement, or just a special winery bottling of the second (it tasted better than the last second disgorgement I tasted).

So what am I drinking here? Or is the sulfur content of my blood so low that I simply hallucinated this bottle?

Note: My tasting note for this wine will be appearing on Thor's blog.

You have to admit, it's a peculiar Interwebz-centric world when you leave the winery and come asking me questions.

I do believe the 'Reserve' was to be the designation for the 3rd, and presumably last, disgorgement of the fab 2002 fizz. But it wasn't shown at the Salon, and I figure it hadn't been disgorged yet.

Tell us a bit, how was it?

It was fantastic. The lees are more integrated than the 2nd disgorgement, and overall it's a better wine. I would have bought more if I had known.
